"We believe that democracy does not die in darkness; it often dies in the fine print of gazette notifications and obscure judicial appointments."

Constitution Watchdog is a premier independent research institution and legal observatory dedicated to the preservation of constitutionalism, the rule of law, and democratic accountability.

In the 21st century, the greatest threat to liberty is Autocratic Legalism: the phenomenon where elected governments use the law itself to dismantle the rule of law. They do not suspend the constitution, rather, they amend it. They do not fire judges, instead, they capture the appointment commissions.

From our headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh, our network spans key jurisdictions across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.

    How We Work

    Operational Pillars

    The Monitor

    Active Desks: Asia, Africa

Continuous tracking of legislative reviews, judicial appointments, and executive orders to identify rights violations in real-time.

    Legal Intelligence

    Output: Policy Briefs

Rigorous, citation-ready analysis. We don't just report the verdict; we analyze how it shifts the "Basic Structure" doctrine.

    Q2 2026

    The C.R.I. Index

    Metric: Resilience

A proprietary index ranking nations on the "health" of their legal immune systems, from amendment ease to judicial tenure security.

    Our Methodology

    The "Text-First" Approach

When analyzing a crisis, we do not start with political opinion. We start with the primary sources. This allows us to provide dispassionate analysis.

    • The Text The specific articles of the Constitution in question.
    • The Precedent Historical case law and established judicial conventions.
    External Oversight

    Global Advisory Council

    Convening January 2026

Our intellectual compass is a non-fiduciary body of preeminent legal minds. Composed of retired High Court justices and senior constitutional scholars, the Council advises on research methodology to ensure absolute neutrality.
